Back in 1984, three of the original YARDBIRDS (Chris Dreja, Jim McCarty and Paul Samwell-Smith, along with former Medicine Head, John Fiddler) became BOX OF FROGS. With help from other ex-Yardbirds, Jeff Beck & Jimmy Page and friends Rory Gallagher, Steve Hackett, Roger Chapman, Ian Dury and Graham Parker they recorded two albums. Both are included on this CD along with a rare bonus cut "Nine Lives".
Another guest on the BOX OF FROGS albums was the late and truly great, Rory Gallagher. A complete perfectionist, who we remember at one session, standing in the middle of studio floor at two o'clock in the morning simply refusing to listen to his body which was telling him I can't go on and we need to stop. On another occasion when he was playing on the track "Hanging From the Wreckage" he felt the guitar sound should be something special and realised that back in his garage was an original Danelectro Coral electric sitar. A roadie was dispatched to bring it to the studio and of course he was absoluterly right, this guitar had the perfect sound for the song.
